I'm a 31 year old guy and have suffered from SED (think it's SED even though this is a newish term) since I was a baby. I watched series 1 of "Freaky Eaters" which Benjamin was involved with and it finally felt like I wasn't alone. I already post on a site called fussy-eaters.com but recently found this forum.

When I was a baby I couldn't keep anything down and so was operated on because it was found I had a rogue muscle growing across/against part of my digestive system (there's probably some long medical term for this but I don't know what it is). I therefore have my own 2-inch tummy-zip to prove it. Because I was too young for anaestetic, apparently I was given a few drops of whiskey to zonk me out.

Since then, my diet isn't anything to write home about. I have never tried meat, fish, vegetables (except chips) or fruit (except force-fed chopped-up bananas in sugar when I was a kid). My doctor (who I haven't visited for years), at the time said to my mum that I would eventually grow out of it, but I haven't. I will only eat certain brands of certain things and sometimes if something looks/feels funny I will not touch it. I've only ever told a handful of close friends my 'secret' as I find it shameful and embarrasing.

Recently, since "Freaky Eaters" and the other forum I belong to, I've been thinking more and more about biting the bullet and going to talk to someone (even though I break out into a cold sweat even thinking about it).
I would very much like to see replies from fellow SED sufferers if possible but also if anyone reading this has sought help from either Ben or other experts, some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone been for a consultation with Ben? How was it?

Thanks in advance.
