I am reading your book now (and am nearing the end). it has lots of usefull suggestions, and I can see how they can work.
I have only one problem with it. It asks me to write down my memories, which I dont have (at least not available to my conscious mind)
I have this problem with lots of self help books. most want you to remember something that might have triggered your problems, but I have (nearly) no memories of before I went to collage, so how can I get back to the issues from my childhood so that I can confront them?
I have considered hypnotherapy, but am afraid of the emotions it might uncover.
I went onto the samaritans website today, and the thought of contacting them made me cry, but I'm not sure why I got emotional.
does anyone know how to access childhood memories?, should I write down everything as it comes into my head? and try to build up a picture of my childhood?

First of all, take it easy. We forget things for a reason and remember them when we are ready. Think of it as a ball of tangled string. Start to pull gently at anything that is ready to come out and see how it goes. Writing down what you do remember (even if it is just like here when you remember your reactions to the Samaritans website) is a great way to start. Or you might consider getting someone to help you.
