My mother says my sister has been seeing things. She is not dreaming - this happens when she is awake. She may be walking down the street and up ahead will think she sees something black just disappearing around the corner in front of her... she has never caught up with 'it'. Of course this is because 'it' doesn't exist! But does this mean she has a mental problem, or the beginning of one? This doesn't happen all the time. But has happened a few times over a period of months. Is this stress manifesting itself? My mother and I have no experience in this - please advise! Thanks...

Just a suggestion, as a teacher, have her vision checked by an eye doctor. Sometimes people have floating particles that seem to move and disappear as the eyes move.

Iím sorry but I really donít know. It is very hard to make a diagnosis based on second hand information at the best of times. If you sister would like to talk about what is going on for her here then I may be able to offer some observations. If you are worried about your sister then perhaps you could help her to get some medical attention, but psychological work is something that only she can do for herself.
