;) Thank you Benjamin and everyone else who replied to me.

I am feeling much better in the last week or so. I think there are a number of reasons for my mood calming down:-

1) Writing my feelings down on this forum and getting very helpful and sensible responses in return.
2) Speaking to my GP and telling my husband and close family about my feelings.
3) Antidepressant medication kicking in.
4) Stopping drinking too much (I only drink on odd days, no more than a couple of drinks, and NEVER alone).
5) Not being at work due to bad ankle sprain. Knowing that I am starting a new job in 10 days, doing part-time hours which is what I have wanted to do for the past 2 years.

I am calm and relaxed - frustrated because I can't walk due to my ankle (that stops me from doing DIY and other stuff) but at least I can sit and read a book, of which I couldn't do when I was feeling down - I could not concentrate on anything during that time.

Long may these good feelings continue, but I couldn't have done it without help from this forum, so thank you once again!

Glad to hear that you are safe and well. Thank you for letting us know.

Those remedial items you list seem like an excellent combination. Keep up the good work and try to pursue the counselling with the NHS if you can.
