I am 24 years old and two days ago started having pain in my right breast. I have never had pain there before or anywhere else on my breast before. I had my period about a week ago and I have just bought a new bra also about a week ago. Could this be why? I have been back to the Bra shop and they said it is perfectly fitted for me. What could it be????

This web-site is concerned with psychological answers to lifeís problems. I think you need a medical examination and canít help with that.

However you are perhaps flagging that you have an anxiety about this breast pain and that is understandable. Regular breast self-examination is very important for women to monitor for the possibility of breast cancer. It is unlikely that a pain is any kind of indication of similar problems since these growths often go undetected. If you are concerned about asking for a medical diagnosis because you fear the result or you are anxious about an intimate examination, perhaps you could talk through these issues on the telephone first with your local doctorís office. This might help you to feel more comfortable getting a medical diagnosis in person as soon as possible.
